Hit The Bricks

In November 2013 the Look Hear Art & Design Festival brought Hit The Bricks to Newcastle. Over three days, the festival transformed the city by inviting some of the most accomplished and revered street artists from around Australia to paint the walls of Newcastle. Bringing to the city their individual styles, these artists created a collection of 14 commanding works of art. Through the innovation and hard work of Look Hear, local businesses, volunteers and The City of Newcastle, Hit The Bricks was able to bring a world-class urban exhibition unique in Australia to the streets of Newcastle.

Hit The Bricks is brought to you by Look Hear. Look Hear fosters the creative community through talks, exhibitions, workshops and more. For more information head to lookhear.com.au

Use the map located on the Look Hear website to guide your walking tour of these 14 outstanding works of art. The Look Hear website will also link you to bios and further information on each of the artists with works in the exhibition, as well as lots of photos and other examples of their work. Newcastle is privileged to host their work and visitors will appreciate the scale and detail of the artists vision by visiting the artworks in person.
