Supercars - Important Traffic Management Information

Pre-event changed traffic conditions from Mon 13 Nov:
Road closures, lane closures, changed traffic conditions and special event clearways will be in effect between Monday 13 and Thursday 30 November. Sections of Wharf Rd, Nobbys Rd and Hunter St will be closed from as early as 7am. Further closures will be in place from Sunday 19 November on King St, Scott St, Wharf Rd and Watt St. Clearways will be in place on sections of Bolton St and Church St from 7am Monday 13 November through until 7pm Thursday 30 November.

During event - key road closures 24 - 26 Nov
- All roads east of Bolton St will close each day of the event from 7am to 7pm. Some roads remain closed until 11pm and midnight.
- Northbound lanes of Stewart Ave between Hunter St and Honeysuckle Dr will close from 6am to 10pm on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 to facilitate increased bus movements from the train station.
- Sections of Wharf road will be closed for the entire duration of the event.
- Other local roads will be also closed during the event.

Strict special event clearway parking restrictions will be in place on key roads including Wharf Rd, Honeysuckle Dr, Hunter St, Scott St, King St. Clearways will also be in place on surrounding local roads and at the park and ride facilities at Stockton and Hunter Stadium. Clearways will be in effect between 8pm Thursday 23 November and 11pm Sunday 26 November. Vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies. Motorists are strongly encouraged to check signs carefully.

Traffic is expected to be heavy on major roads approaching Newcastle including the M1 Pacific Motorway and the Pacific Hwy as large crowds travel to and from the event. Motorists should expect delays, carpool and allow plenty of additional travel time particularly on the Saturday and Sunday.

Vehicle access for local residents and businesses within the circuit closures will be maintained outside of event hours from 7pm to 7am via King Street (entry) and via Scott Street (exit). Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
