What's on at Newcastle Museum?

Love and Lust in the Ancient World - Talk by Dr Marguerite Johnson - Thursday 14 February

Have you ever wondered what it was like to fall in love - or lust - in ancient Greece or Rome? How about the ways and means of picking-up? What about courtship, weddings, married life? Were the ancients romantic, and what about the theory that Valetine's Day has its origins in the mysterious Roman fertility festival called the Lupercalia? All will be revealed in a fun evening as Marguerite Johnson talks you through the love lives of the ancients.

Time: 6 - 7pm, Museum Theatrette
Cost: $10pp (includes a glass of wine)
