Headed by a Neapolitan chef and pizzaiolo (pizza-maker), Napoli Centrale Pizza Bar offers a truly authentic pizza experience in the heart of the city centre.
Their pizza dough is made according to Neapolitan tradition, using Neapolitan flour and kneaded on marble, and they use San Marzano tomatoes grown near
Mount Vesuvius alongside the finest imported Italian ingredients and local produce.
Each pizza is cooked for barely a few minutes at temperatures reaching 450 degrees Celsius in a wood-fired oven built by hand in Naples. The crust is light
and aerated, the base is thin and the toppings are minimal - just as pizza is in Napoli, Italy.
Napoli Centrale Pizza Bar also serves antipasti, pasta (including gluten free options), insalate and scrumptious dolci such as tiramisu and Nutella calzone.
The drinks menu includes ice cold Peroni beer on tap as well as Italian and local beers, Italian wines (many from the Campania region, of which Naples
is capital) and aperitivi including Spritz.
With a fun and family-friendly atmosphere, the pizza bar opened in April 2014 and has fast gained a reputation as Newcastle's best pizza destination
thanks to its focus on quality ingredients, friendly service and above all its commitment to making vera pizza Napoletana (true Neapolitan pizza).
